    • ARCHIE L. DAVIS REESE Archie L. Davis, age 70 of Reese, passed away Monday, September 15, 2008 at Covenant Healthcare (Cooper Campus) after an extended illness. He was born February 11, 1938, in Deckerville to the late Floyd and Bertha (Taylor) Davis. Archie and Wanda (Wintermute) were married on July 26, 1955, in Sandusky. Archie was a life-long truck driver until his retirement several years ago and enjoyed playing euchre and shooting pool with family and friends. Archie is survived by his wife of 53 years, Wanda; two sons, David (Pam) Davis of Reese, Greg (Brenda) Davis of Saginaw; one daughter, Connie (John) Bowerman of Deckerville and one daughter-in-law, Julie Davis of Deckerville. He will be greatly missed by his nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, on great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews that he loved spending time with. Additional survivors include an extended family of one brother, Cliff (Carol) Davis, of Deckerville; Four sisters-in-law, Shirley Darabos of Reese; Barb Taylor, Bev (Verne) Schumacher, and Ginny (Steve) Pozsgay all of Deckerville. In addition to his parents, Archie was preceded in death by a son, Stephen R. Davis, February 24, 2008; and a sister-in-law, Sharon Bulgrien. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service in Archie's memory was held at the Ware-Smith Woolever Funeral Home in Reese. Hayden Stone of Deckerville, officiated the service.

She was born February 26, 1910, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, to William and Matilda (Deibner) Waugh. She married Henry M. Meyers on June 10, 1935 in Sioux City, Iowa. Vina was a second grade teacher at West Branch Schools in West Branch, Iowa, for 35 years, retiring in 1980. She enjoyed traveling and playing cards of all kinds. She is survived by her children, Jim (Bonnie) Meyer of Naperville, Mich., Susan (Jim) Grosenbach of Lapeer; grandchildren, Lisa, Stephanie, Kristin; great-grandchildren, Jason, Jacob, Caleb, Nathan, Timmy, Zachery, Austin, Matthew and Lexi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Meyers; granddaughter, Nicole Meyers; parents, William and Matilda Waugh; 2 brothers and a sister. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Funeral services were held Thursday
