Margie spent the last three years of her life at Hillside AFC Home, where she was lovingly cared for by Shawn and Phil Smith. Margie was born, November 15, 1914, in New York City, the daughter of the late Jacob and Willimena Haas. After high school graduation, Margie attended secretarial school and then obtained employment with the Kidde Fire Extinguisher Company of New York City. Her family owned a summer cottage in Forked River, New Jersey, and it was there where she met her husband, Harold William McNally of Brown City. After the war, the couple moved to Michigan and purchased Harold's grandparents farm in Brown City. Both were members of the United Methodist Church in Brown City. She was also an accomplished seamstress and made many of her daughter's school clothes. During her marriage, Margie helped to organize the local PTA at the school which is still in existence today.
